Junior Will Tyndall has had a great season so far, leading the team in scoring with an average of 16.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. This is Tyndall’s second year on the varsity team, and while he mainly plays power forward, he sometimes plays other positions. Regardless, Tyndall very much enjoys being on the basketball team.

“I love my team, my teammates and my coaches,” Tyndall said. “Our team has good chemistry on and off the court.”

Power forward Kayla Characklis has had an outstanding season so far, averaging 18.8 points and 8.1 rebounds a game. As a senior, this is Characklis’s third season on varsity and fourth year playing basketball at East. She is a captain this year and has been a driving force on the team.

“Kayla has become a very good leader on the team.’ said head coach Tameka Bagley. “She’s a threat offensively and defensively. She can play the inside, she can play the outside. She’s a very versatile player.”

Seth Macclesh

Junior wrestler Seth Macclesh has been wrestling since the eighth grade before joining the team as a freshman. Since then, he has worked his way up to becoming the team captain. Although he has played other sports before, Macclesh likes wrestling better than any of the other ones.

“Wrestling is one of the most competitive sports I’ve played, and it’s very physically demanding,” Macclesh said. “I like doing physically demanding things. I just find it fun.”

JC Migaly

JC Migaly has been a crucial part of East’s indoor track team over the past three seasons. As a returning senior, he currently leads the team in long jump with a personal record of 21 feet, 9 inches.

“JC comes to practice every day ready to work and ready to listen, which helps him improve greatly during practice,” said coach Jonathan Beyle. “His great work ethic, along with his exceptional talent, really helps him to excel in track and field.”
