Since we’re all trapped inside for the time being, the ECHO is here to help with some suggestions of activities to do, in case you used to pay attention to the fact that there is a world outside your phone. Boredom plays no role in helping keep the coronavirus away.
- Try to be as far away from any other living person as possible, including family. You’ve hopefully shown you can maintain six feet of social distancing. But why not try more?
- Stare at a wall. Walls have personalities, and new scientific research indicates that they may even be capable of thought. Learning to understand and empathize with walls may be a valuable skill in an imaginary future where scientific research is trustworthy.
- Turn a light switch on and off. You can experience a new reality with this daring act of luminosity modulation.
- Complain that the coronavirus restrictions are preventing you from living your life. This bold act will make you stand out as opposed to every single other human in the world, none of whom have shown signs of being affected by the social distancing restrictions.
- Count the number of blades of grass on a lawn. Everybody’s always wanted to do ground-breaking research, and it’s likely that you will gain knowledge previously unknown to the world.
- Reorganize a room in your house. This provides an opportunity to rebel, now that the typical grounds of rebellions, schools, are closed. Better yet, put it back in its original order after you reorganize it to show that you are rebelling against rebelling.
- Read the ECHO. Is this a solution to even the most crushing boredom now that so many things are closed? Maybe. We haven’t tried it yet.
Good luck finding things to do in this trying time.
