East expelled 23-year-old sixth year senior Jon M. Carlson after he was outed as the infamous barber behind the “Quad C Clippers.” Carlson was busted cutting English teacher Keith Gerdes’s hair during his planning period Oct. 14.
Carlson says he started his secret school barbershop in the Lower Quad C men’s restroom in November 2021, when he cut an anonymous freshman’s hair with a pair of classroom scissors. After his first haircut, his underground business made its way throughout the student body and has taken off ever since.
“I fell in love with the hustle the first time I picked up the shears… the greatest always start from humble beginnings, so there was no shame in my game,” Carlson said.
The decision to expel Carlson is not popular among the community, as many teachers and parents have made their outrage known publicly.
“Oh my, it’s ridiculous, let me tell you. He’s just a kid with a dream. You know who else had a dream? Martin Luther King,” said long-time chemistry teacher Grumpson White in a recent interview.
Gerdes, who was caught as a customer of Carlson Oct. 14, also chose to speak on the decision to expel the talented student.
“It’s a bad move, he’s a good kid… me personally, I think Mr. Casey’s jealous that he didn’t get a haircut this fresh.”
Casey spoke on the matter, saying that Carlson had broken multiple school policies in doing this, and he was actually on the hunt for the infamous Quad C barber for a while.
“Security has been my number one issue, so catching this juvenile barber was number one on my priority list, and from what I’ve seen his taper fades are mid, so I’ll pass on that,” Casey said.
Carlson claims he is not worried over this decision, as multiple celebrities have reached out and made haircut appointments with the trending young barber, such as North Carolina basketball player Armando Bacot.
“His cuts go hard. He insisted on doing it in my bathroom, which was slightly weird, but the cut was fresh,” Bacot said.
