New year 2021 new me

The year is 2021. It’s a new day, a new world. You see, when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, everything changes, and 2020 was a year I’m glad to leave behind.

Masks? Those are a thing of the past. One of my new year’s resolutions is to get healthier, and now that it’s 2021, obviously the pandemic is no longer an issue, so no more masks for me! They get in the way of my breathing exercises. Sure, I’ve gotten a few weird looks when I enter public spaces, but another one of my resolutions was to ignore criticism, so haters, begone.

Another one of my resolutions was to go to the gym more, and I’ve been three times already this week. The other day, I came with my Starbucks venti caramel iced latte with hazelnut drip and I had to finish it before I did my yoga, so I sat on this convenient bench next to the weights. Next thing I know, I’m being asked to either workout or leave, AND put on a mask. Clearly, the gym handler didn’t know it was 2021, or he would’ve understood that the pandemic is gone and Starbucks is an essential fuel for workouts. Strangely enough, I haven’t lost any weight since I started going, but I’m sure that’s just because my five minutes of occasional yoga hasn’t added up yet.

I’m doing such a good job with my resolutions so far. Another one of mine was to meditate every day, and the website meditationsfornoobs.com said that anything could count as meditation if it helps you, and that taking breaks from stressors was important. I haven’t been to work in the past week, and I’ve almost finished an entire season of Grey’s Anatomy. I didn’t email my boss because that’s a stressor for me, and although he seems upset, I couldn’t be happier! I really feel like I’m becoming the best version of myself.

To all my fans reading this, wondering how they could become as unbothered as me, my number one recommendation is dedication. I dedicated myself to my resolutions, and look at me now!
