CHCCS is requiring a number of fees for students participating in this year’s graduation ceremony. There will be a $20 fee to attend the ceremony, as well as a $20 surcharge to cover the cost of diplomas and ceremony decoration.
Additionally, there will be a $20 charge to enter the Dean Smith Center, as well as a $20 charge for reserving a chair within the stadium. There will also be a $20 fee for students who forgot to order a cap and gown and an additional $20 surcharge for those who ordered their cap and gown.
A formal statement on graduation by CHCCS Chief Communications Officer Andy Jenks can be found below.
“Want to get to go down on the court with the other students and not just have to stay in the stands? You´ll have to pay an additional $20.
Want to walk across the stage? $20.
Want them to use the microphone when they announce your name? $20.
Want them to say your name, rather than just announcing “lazy, bad acne”? Another 20.
Want them to pronounce your name right? Hand over 20 per syllable.
Want your name spelled correctly on your diploma? Fork over a Jackson.
Want your name not in white letters and Comic Sans? 20 Nunitos.
Want everyone in there to actually wear their masks correctly so you can stay safe? Sorry. There are some things even $20 can’t buy.”
