East girls’ varsity tennis took on Marvin Ridge Nov. 6 in the NCHSAA 4A State Championships in Burlington, N.C. Both teams went into the match undefeated, the Wildcats with a 21-0 record and the Mavericks 22-0, but Marvin Ridge won the Championship in the first five singles matches. The Wildcats are the Eastern Regional Champions, Conference Champions and State Runners-Ups.
The singles players, in order from one to six, were sophomore Clara Mast, senior Olivia Xiao, freshman Sylvia Mast, senior Maddie Moore, sophomore Kylie Wade and junior Mya Tan.
