43 Beanie Babies and Counting

It was just a regular day. I was out with my mom and I thought I’d stop by the Goodwill to see if there were any cute pieces to add to my outfit collection. I had found a dress and a cute sheer top. Just as I was getting ready to leave, I took a gander over to the bins to tell my mom that I was ready to go, and what she said next changed my life: “Look at this bag of Beanie Babies.”

I looked down, and lo and behold there was a bag filled to the brim with 43 Beanie Babies. Instantly, I felt as if I had found my purpose in life: to give these abandoned bears a home. I pleaded with my mom to let me have them, and she finally told me that I could go up and ask how much they were and then she would think about it. I put the bag in one of the Goodwill baskets and rushed up to the checkout counter.

I asked the lady how much they were since there was no price tag. Her response filled me with joy: “I don’t know, maybe $5.99.” That’s when I knew without a doubt that I was taking these Beanie Babies home.

Once I got home, I thought to myself, “Aren’t some Beanie Babies worth a pretty penny?” I grabbed my phone and looked up a list of the most valuable Beanie Babies. At least five of the ones I had were there. I was shocked!

This motivated me to make an eBay account and get to listing. I’m not looking for thousands of dollars, just to make a profit off of the bears. I listed the two most valuable ones that I had, one with “The End” written on its chest and the other one sporting a Beanie Babies Official Club pin on it. A couple days after I put them up, I had gotten two bids for $26 on one of them. I was rich! Already, from only one Beanie Baby, I had turned a profit.

I would absolutely recommend buying a bag of Beanie Baby bears at the Goodwill. Even if you don’t sell them, they make great friends to have around. I plan to keep most of them so I can have some support in my life. I think they’re cute, fun, and when you get tired of them, you can make some extra cash.

So everyone, run down to your local Goodwill and rummage through the bins. I wish you the best of luck finding your pot of gold in the place you would least expect it.
